Distillers Description:

Celosa is an 100% organic joven tequila, we only use 7 year old blue weber agaves that is grown and harvested in the highlands of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. The secret of Celosa lies in the blend of traditional know-how, and a unique process which lets the tequila rest in recently used red wine French oak barrels. This innovative process softens the tequila and gives it a silky finish along with a distinctive, rosé color.

Celosa Tequila Rose is produced at NOM 1479 NOM (Norma Oficial Mexicana) is a set of regulations that define the production process, labeling, and quality standards for tequila, Mexico's iconic distilled spirit. The introduction of NOM in 1997 marked a turning point for the tequila industry, as it established clear rules and regulations for the production of tequila, ensuring its authenticity and quality.

Before the implementation of NOM, the tequila industry was largely unregulated, and there were no clear standards for what could be marketed as tequila. This led to widespread confusion and deception, with many products claiming to be tequila, even though they were made using different types of agave, or were mixed with other alcohols.

The introduction of NOM was a significant milestone for the tequila industry, as it provided a clear and standardized set of guidelines for the production of tequila. This helped to ensure the authenticity and quality of the spirit, and helped to promote its global reputation as a premium product. NOM also established specific geographic boundaries for the production of tequila, limiting it to certain regions of Mexico, further cementing its identity as a unique and culturally significant product.

Overall, the historical significance of NOM for tequila cannot be overstated. It helped to establish the tequila industry as a legitimate and respected producer of a premium spirit, while also protecting the authenticity and cultural significance of tequila for future generations.
