Product Description:
Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey • Distilled in an authentic three-chamber still (one of the only working ones in America) Aged 9 years in new American oak Bottled at cask strength, uncut & unfiltered Ultralimited annual production.
This 9 year cask strength release from Leopold Bros. is one of the most historically significant whiskeys made in America today. Using a painstakingly restored three chamber still a 19th century design once used by pre Prohibition rye distillers Leopold Bros. has revived a style of rye whiskey that had all but vanished.
After nine long years in charred oak, this whiskey emerges with enormous body, silky texture, and explosive depth more akin to a fine cognac or Armagnac than modern rye. Bottled at full cask strength, it delivers the richest, most aromatic rye profile Leopold Bros. has ever released.
This is not rye for everyone this is rye for purists, historians, and connoisseurs. A once-forgotten American whiskey style reborn
Tasting Notes
-
Nose
Rich baking spice, toasted rye bread, candied orange peel, mint, dark honey, floral esters, sandalwood, tobacco leaf, and deep oak resin. The aroma is intoxicating, layered, and unmistakably three chamber. -
Palate
Incredibly viscous and luxurious. Waves of spiced honey, molasses, vanilla pod, clove, anise, cocoa, roasted pecans, dried apricot, and barrel-char depth.
The three-chamber still gives this rye an oiliness and concentrated grain character rarely found in modern whiskey. -
Finish
Long, warm, fragrant, and elegant. Lingering rye spice, citrus oils, dark caramel, pipe tobacco, and toasted grain. The finish evolves slowly, almost wine-like in complexity.
Serving Suggestions
- Neat The only way to fully appreciate the texture and complexity of this historically revived rye style.
- With a Splash of Water Opens stunning layers of dried fruit, citrus, and warm spice.
-
Signature Cocktail “The Chamber Manhattan”

- 1 oz Carpano Antica or a rich vermouth
-
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Stir gently and serve up with a brandied cherry.
A Manhattan elevated to a transcendent level by the whiskey’s depth and oil-rich structure.
Why It Matters
Three-chamber rye was the backbone of pre-Prohibition America—a style thought lost until Leopold Bros. rebuilt one of the only functional three-chamber stills in the world. Their craft, patience, and obsessive historical detail have produced a rye whiskey unlike anything else on the market.
At 9 years old and cask strength, this is one of the most important American rye releases of the modern era—rich, powerful, complex, and historically faithful.
Collectors take note: bottles like this don’t just get opened… they get remembered.
